Archie’s Cat Sanctuary (ACS) is a tribute to our beloved Archie, a paraplegic cat who graced our care for four years from 2019 to 2023. Located in the Peloponnese region of Greece, specifically in the quaint village of Galatas, across from Poros island, ACS is a sanctuary for vulnerable stray cats with ongoing medical requirements for the past six years.

Our sanctuary specializes in offering a secure haven for these cats, focusing on their long-term medical needs while working towards their rehabilitation and improved health. Throughout their stay, our feline residents benefit from enrichment activities, tailored behavior modification programs, comprehensive medical care, and various housing options designed to meet their individual needs.

The reason we’ve taken in so many cats with ongoing care needs is not because we are financially better off—in fact, we operate under tight financial constraints—but because of what makes us different. We have the space, with a large garden that offers a safe haven for strays, and the time, being retired, to give each animal the individual attention and care they need. While others in our community do their best by feeding strays, we often become the go-to for cases requiring more sustained support, simply because we can offer a stable, attentive environment.
