Sid was rescued from Poros Island as a tiny kitten, approximately two months old. Robert had gone to help a friend feed the stray cats, and as they were descending the mountain, Robert thought he heard a kitten crying. They stopped to listen and heard the crying again, leading them to a storm drain. Despite its depth, they could see the kitten but couldn’t reach it. Robert searched for a box and rope to lower it down. Unable to find a box, he found a strong rope and lowered it into the storm drain. Surprisingly, the kitten sensed it was being rescued and began to climb the rope slowly. When it was within reach, Robert grabbed it and took it to the vet for a check-up. Apart from being frightened, the kitten was healthy. Robert brought him home.
